Molesey vs Faversham Town – Tuesday 24th November, 7.45pm kick-off (412 Walton Road, West Molesey, Surrey. Postcode: KT8 2JG).

Clash between two Play-off chasing sides could see Robinson face former club

Faversham Town’s trip to sixth-placed Molesey could see ex-Lilywhite Sam Robinson face his former club.

Robinson, who can count Met Police, Merstham and Redhill among his former employers, enjoyed a brief spell at the Kent club, joining in early 2012.

However, he now plays for the hosts, who won the Combined Counties League, Premier Division at the end of last season and have made quite an impression in Ryman League, Division One South this time around too.

The Moles are currently in 6th position, a point ahead of the away team, but the home side do also have two games in hand.

Their success is largely thanks to top goalscorer James McShane. He has scored 14 league goals already this term and is third in the league’s top goalscorers’ chart, behind Tom Tolfrey of Dorking Wanderers and Ramsgate’s Joe Taylor.

But Ray Turner’s Lilywhites have come into form recently as well and they extended their current unbeaten Ryman South run to six matches with a comprehensive 2-1 win over Tooting & Mitcham United on Saturday. Liam King scoring both goals.

These results have moved Faversham to within a matter of points of a Play-off place.

Meanwhile, the home side come into this contest, having fallen to a 2-1 defeat at Ramsgate on Saturday afternoon.

When the two outfits met at the Shepherd Neae Stadium earlier this campaign, McShane was on the scoresheet but Molesey fell to a 3-1 loss with Dean Grant, Wayne Wilson and Matt Bourne, who received a plaque before kick-off on Saturday for surpassing 250 club appearances, scoring for Town.
